What is the difference between the 402CARHR and the 400CAR3, both kits have a fill valve and a flapper?
- The difference between the two kits are the flappers, the fill valves are identical. The 402CARHR comes with an adjustable flapper that will fit most 2 inch flush valve drain holes. The 400CAR3 comes with an adjustable flapper that will fit most 3 inch flush valve drain holes. The fill valves are both High Performance fill valves that are designed to fill the toilet bowl to its highest level every time.
What is the difference between the 402CARHR and the 400CR, both kits have a fill valve and a flapper?
- Each kit comes with a different fill valve and flapper. The 400CR Kit is best used with toilets that use more water than 1.6 gallon per flush or toilets that predate 1994. The 402CARHR Kit is best used with toilets that use 1.6 gallon per flush or less water. These water saving or “Performance” toilets were manufactured and only sold after 1994.
What is the difference between the 402CARHR and the 400CARP, both kits have a fill valve and a flapper?
- The difference between the two kits are the flappers, the fill valves are identical. The 402CARHR comes with an adjustable flapper that will fit most 2 inch flush valve drain holes. The 400CARP comes with an adjustable flapper and “Drain Seat” that will fit most 2 inch flush valve or ceramic drain holes. The flapper assembly repairs worn flush valve drains and allows our universal flapper to attach to a broken flush valve mounting brackets. This flapper is also preferred in repairing 1 pc toilet flush valve drains or replacing older flapper systems that connect directly to the tank bottom. The fill valves are both High Performance fill valves that are designed to fill the toilet bowl to its highest level every time.
How will I know which size of flapper I need when buying a Kit?
- Fluidmaster manufactures a universal 2” flapper and a universal 3” flapper. To determine the size of flapper you need, measure the drain hole the flapper covers. If the hole is 2.5 inches use a 2 inch flapper if the drain hole is 3.5 inches use a 3 inch flapper.
