SUMMARY

As head of Marketing for Fluidmaster GB Ltd in the UK and Ireland, the Marketing Manager plays a vital role in contributing to Global Brand Strategy and in defining and executing a UK focused “go to market” strategy for the full portfolio of UK products. This position will partner with UK based Sales, Operations, Engineering and Finance teams to drive key growth initiatives. In doing so, it is critical that this individual be a team player but also a leader who can represent the UK marketing team from a position of strength. Reporting to the US-based Vice President of Global Marketing, this individual must also be able to collaborate well with colleagues across the globe

SUMMARY

As head of Marketing for Fluidmaster GB Ltd in the UK and Ireland, the Marketing Manager plays a vital role in contributing to Global Brand Strategy and in defining and executing a UK focused “go to market” strategy for the full portfolio of UK products. This position will partner with UK based Sales, Operations, Engineering and Finance teams to drive key growth initiatives. In doing so, it is critical that this individual be a team player but also a leader who can represent the UK marketing team from a position of strength. Reporting to the US-based Vice President of Global Marketing, this individual must also be able to collaborate well with colleagues across the globe.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the creation and execution of UK based packaging, merchandising, web/online, social media, events, promotions, and other critical elements in Fluidmaster’s marketing mix.
  • Communicates with internal and external company stakeholders and customers the pertinent details of the Fluidmaster Advantage – superior products, service and after-sales support that result in an enviable brand position.
  • Helps build promotional and public relations programs, coordinating the execution of these efforts with internal teams and appropriate outside vendors.
  • Oversees effective advertising efforts, public relations, online and tradeshow participation.
  • Supervises creation of printed and online sales materials, including literature and promotional aids, helping to shape customer communications with relevant information.
  • Heads design and preparation of merchandising, point-of-purchase and associated in-store promotional materials
  • Provides analysis of advertising and promotional programs to Global Marketing leadership.
  • Interacts with outside media contacts as a company spokesperson.
  • Establishes and effectively manages the UK marketing department budget.
  • Takes direction from and develops strong collaboration with Global Brand Management.
  • Provides coaching and mentorship to other members of the marketing and product management team.
  • Performs other duties as needed to help drive sales.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in marketing or business. Relevant post-graduate qualification e.g. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in marketing, and sales would be advantageous.
  • Home improvement, building and/or plumbing product experience advantageous but not essential.
  • Relevant experience in other industries is also desirable.
  • Experience in category management or trade marketing desirable, together with consumer packaged goods marketing, sales or promotion.
  • Experience in specification or consultative sales and marketing is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal/people skills and collaborative team player – knows how to get work completed effectively through other people.
  • Solid problem solving capabilities and commitment to support sales and marketing personnel.
  • Gets the big picture: Ability to think through tough strategic issues and prioritize competing objectives.
  • Ability to understand their role within the global organization, and align global strategy with local tactics.
  • Demonstrated skills in achieving marketing objectives while meeting budget.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills.
  • Intrinsically customer focused, both with external and internal customers.
  • Self-starter with ability to effectively organize complex projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient on BOTH PC and Mac computer, or willing and able to learn.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally from time-to-time as needed.
